This pen is made of a celluloid derivative and is technically biodegradable and formed from a “renewable resource” even though our resin and our ebonite can last more than a lifetime – as proven by vintage pens long in existence that were stored well. The cost of this pen was kept far below the quoted equivalent costs that were 8 to as much as 36 times greater (EU, Japan, Taiwan, US, China). Noodler’s made it with better, more utilitarian materials and designs at a cost to you of $20. We did it with the help of people in: Texas, New York, California, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, and India. The combination of the oldest and largest democracies in the world can increase living standards for all.

![]() Piston Fill Resin pens by Noodler’s Ink The Noodler’s Ink colored piston filler comes in black, red/orange, turquoise, burgundy, and navy blue (additional colors will be available as time passes). They are a classic 1960s design (note the classic bow windowed ink chamber) made from a celluloid derivative developed by a company in Rochester, New York – that has several trade names (including some high priced variants, such as "vegetal resin"). The piston seal is also made of the same material used in most high end piston filling pens of today (a type of nylon). The nib is stainless steel tipped with a hard platinum group metal alloy. The feed is classic as well – being hand made of hard rubber (also known as "ebonite") and unique from plastic feeds in that it can be gently heat set to many different pen nibs without any loss of capillary abilities. The nib size is the classic #2 – the most common nib size of the past 100+ years….and thus the pen can be fitted with a larger number of nibs than any other size. The edge of the cap and section are banded for long term stability and the cap has no internal restrictions (so that a wide shouldered 1940s nib as well as a narrower 1930s nib can fit if the owner chooses to do so). Nib size: Fine Medium Stylographic Rollerball with Ebonite Feed and Piston Fill by Noodler’s Ink Please note: These pens have 3 colors for accents Black, Blue and red. Not pictured red & Blue . You may receive a pen with red or blue accents. Wow a roller ball that fills just like a fountain pen and what a neat concept. Imagine the ink possibilities! Order fast as Noodlers are known to sell out fast! The pen has a handmade ebonite feed inspired by an 1879 stylo that is fitted with a fine VERY SMOOTH Swiss made ink-ball tip. The pen itself costs about the same as a bottle of ink and within a few fillings it has paid for itself when compared to the costs of fraud resisting disposable (and thus wasteful) rollerball pens. The pen is NOT physically durable and will not survive being thrown on a hard floor! Be careful with it! The material was attractive due far more to its high level of chemical durability (which might be of use with a future specialty ink for this pen – or to artists who might experiment with alcohol/solvent inks). The clip design was preferred due to a test with a fine dress shirt and a silk tie – the other clips caught and this one does not…even on the finest material.
