The Lamy 2000 was certainly a pen destined for the future and considering this pen arrived on the market in 1966 it's no wonder why it became so popular.  It was a first for the clip being made of solid stainless steel.  There was no precedent for this procedure, which would create an even surface of both stainless steel and plastic. This created products whose unique character was due to the high degree of manual craftsmanship required.  A combination of Makrolon (reinforced plastic) and fiberglass making brushed black matte finish. Snap on type cap. Spring operated clip of solid stainless steel.  The pen's filling system is almost invisible to the naked eye. The refilling system of the fountain pen is Piston operated with large ink capacity. The fountain pen comes with a 14K rhodium plated nib.  Measures 5 1/2" capped and slightly over 6" Long posted.  Weight 25 G.
